At Kidsfit we have one goal- and that is to "Motivate Kids to Move!"
It is our passion and our life work. We are genuinely excited about the possibility of making a difference in children's lives. We believe that with your help we can all make a difference for not only today's youth but also for generations to come.
It is for precisely this reason we started this company. It is our hope that Kidsfit can partner with you- the Children's Physical Education Teachers, Children's Fitness Instructors, Personal Trainers, Day-Care Providers, Pediatric Physical Therapists, School Systems, Coaches, Moms, Dads and others-to get the kids off the couch, away from video games and back in to an active healthy lifestyle!
The Kidsfit Strategic Plan is to:
1. Inform- We have to know where we are before we can move forward. The sad state of children's fitness levels has been well reported throughout the press. Unfortunately, despite years of headlines, our kids' fitness levels are still on the decline. We intend to provide you with the statistics and the stories you need to highlight the crisis we are facing. Armed with this information, you can make positive changes within your sphere of influence. Each of us needs to speak for the children in our communities.
2. Educate- Here's where we need your help. In this website we intend to highlight facilities, schools, individuals, businesses, governments and leaders from all levels of influence. Kidsfit intends to be the conduit that links all of us who share the children's fitness passion. We want to hear from all of you- tell us what is working and what needs repair.
3. Motivate- When I hear about an elementary school in Florida that has a fitness program that is each day working out over 100 children before school-I get motivated! I want us all to know who is behind this program and how they have managed to wrangle an entire classroom, a healthy equipment budget, additional salary for the program and most of all, how they are getting kids to workout before school. I am equally motivated by dedicated fitness professionals that have found ingenious methods for getting kids to exercise despite their lack of funding or support. We are seeing an increase in the number of businesses that are opening up to supply the demand for fitness and activity programs. We are even experiencing a "rebirth" in good old-fashioned play programs that encourage active movements in settings such as day-care and after school programs!
We encourage you to get out there and make a difference in the lives of children. You can do this by developing fitness programs, outfitting kids facilities, talking to kids about the benefits of an active lifestyle, starting kids fitness businesses, adding before and after school programs at our Y's, schools, health clubs and JCC's. Finally after you have begun to make a difference -contact us and let us highlight your program so that together we can inform, educate and motivate our peers to do the same in their communities.
