Experience the shrimping history and playful dolphins of Shem Creek!
Once on the water, you'll have some time to get acclimated to your kayak before you glide away from the dock and down through the shrimping village.
You'll witness the intermingling of wildlife and Charleston culture as you travel down Shem Creek and into the Charleston Harbor. As dolphins breach nearby, you'll be taken by the sights of the downtown skyline, Ravenel Bridge, Fort Sumter and other iconic views. At the mouth of Shem Creek, paddle around Crab Bank Seabird Sanctuary, a small summer nesting island for thousands of Pelicans, Black Skimmers, Sea Gulls and other species (it is spectacular).
