Mindfulness aids the brain in anchoring information and improves memory retrieval, preparing the brain to take a test, and combining many skills for higher level thinking. Mindfulness, as often described to young children, is the practice of paying attention in a very special way. It teaches children to build an awareness of oneself, others, and one's surroundings.
