Walking up and down stairs, alternating feet works on cardio. You can also have the student walk up and down the stairs while holding an object. Exercise helps the brain and body go into a homeostatic state, balancing hormones, brain chemicals and system functions. Physical activity and exercise change the learning state to optimize retention and retrieval of memory.
